After weeks of reviewing every team, basically every off-season move, free agent signings, remaining free agents, fantasy strategies, and so much more, Steve and I set our sights on major news in baseball.

This week was action-packed and we unfortunately got news that Josh Hamilton has relapsed, David Ortiz voicing his opinion on the new “batters box” rule, Yoan Moncado’s mega deal with the #RedSox, and many other headlines.

Last week we experienced some mild technical difficulties, which forced us to do a split broadcast of the show, but that didn’t deter our loyal fans from listening, downloading, and sharing the audio.  As always, we appreciate the support.

Episode 5 was of a focus on the AL Central, which became even more competitive this off-season with the bolstering of basically each team.  The White Sox look to be the early favorite, but how can you count out the rest of the division with the amazing talent on each squad?

Our special guest was Tyler Kepner, National baseball writer for the New York Times.  Here is Tyler’s NY Times page.

For Episode 3 Steve and I paid tribute to the great Ernie Banks, who died of a heart attack at the age of 83 (just days before his 84th birthday).  Tom Harding, Colorado Rockies beat writer for MLB.com also joined us as we did a deep analysis of the NL west, graded the moves for each team, and shared our rankings.

Episode 4 was a deep dive and heavy analysis on the AL west, which has been over-shadowed for most of the off-season, despite Oakland GM Billy Beane going into full blow-up mode once again.  We’ll get into Billy’s mindset and attempt to predict what his next move(s) will be.  The rest of the division has been active as well as most of the teams have bolstered their lineups, including the forgotten Houston Astros.

We also introduced Grade ‘em and Rank ‘em, where we grade the off-season moves (and in some case lack of moves) and rank where we believe each team will fall within the division.

So far Steve and I have tackled the AL and NL East divisions and a lot of action has continued in the off-season.  One of the dvisions that has seen a flurry of activity is the NL West, which features MLB Champs, the San Francisco Giants.  We dissected all the major and many of the minor moves of each ball club and the changes in the front office.  2015 promises to be a tough year for the entire division, which means great baseball and exciting races.

Sad news to report as MLB legend Ernie Banks passed away at the age of 33 on Friday from a heart attack.  Banks was not only one of the greatest to ever play the game, but he was widely seen as the ambassador for Major League Baseball.  A man we will all miss.

Tom Harding, MLB beat writer for the Colorado Rockies joined us to speak about the Colorado Rockies, their off-season moves, and other likely moves to be made.  We also spoke about the rest of the division and how the competition is shaping up.

We also shared our rankings for the NL West.

Episode 2 featured a very deep conversation and analysis on the American League Eastern division and the off-season moves for each club.  We spoke on the remaining needs for each team and if they’ve actually bettered themselves this off-season or are folding early.

Our special guest will be Joon Lee, Red Sox writer for SB Nation‘s Over The Monster.
